New Staff |
The Literacy Council staff and board would like to welcome our new staff member, Valerie Hightower. Valerie joins us as the Family Literacy Coordinator. She formerly taught sixth grade reading and language arts but has been at home raising her children for the last nine years. Valerie grew up in Texas, lived in Georgia for thirteen years, and is now happy to call Morganton home for the past four years. Her family consists of Jamie, her husband, and their three children, Peyton, Major, and Hallie. The Literacy Council staff and board would like to welcome our new staff member, Stephanie South. Stephanie is now serving part-time as the Project Citizenship Coordinator. This position is new to Stephanie as her background is in Human Services/Social Worker Realm. She currently lives in Morganton with her husband, David South and two daugthers, Alex and Madison. |

Student The Literacy Council staff and board would like to welcome our new Intern, Megan Pherigo. She is majoring in Accounting at Western Piedmont Community College. Webmaster Born and raised in North Carolina, Chialia Yang has been designing since she was eleven years old. Inspired by her older brother in computers/technology, she has become an outstanding amateur artist in her family. Chialia is gladly assisting Burke Literacy's website as a volunteer to expand her knowledge in web&graphic designing. She is currently in college to earn her Digital Effects and Animation degree. |
