The Burke County Literacy Council is a non-profit organization formed in 1988.
Our mission is to teach adults and their families to read and/or improve their literacy skills and to instill in all those served a commitment to life-long learning!
A Thanksgiving Gift
Sophia, a local 15-year-old student, organized and donated 26 Thanksgiving meal bags filled with all the essentials, including a turkey!
These thoughtful meal kits were given to our students just in time for the holiday.
Thank you for bringing a little extra brightness to families this Thanksgiving! 🧡

Putting Books in the hands of Burke County Students
It was SO much fun to see the littles at Forest Hill Elementary School open up their BIG surprise-- a book vending machine! We are proud to supply books for this literacy-centered student reward system.

COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE
CONGRATULATIONS to our student, Liping, who has completed 40 class hours at Burke Literacy Council. We are so proud of your hard work and dedication!
