The Literacy Council served more than 3,000 adults and children of Burke County through literacy programs during our 2023-24 program year. The Literacy Council also provided over 5,000 new books to families in Burke County in the past year. Our mission is to teach adults and their families to read and/or improve their literacy skills and to instill in all those served a commitment to life-long learning. There are many ways to support the mission of Burke Literacy Council.
